Good question.

I look at the 50x as sort of a moonshot / symbol that takes many years to actually materialize. The 50x productivity boost of the average manual worker across society took a century. So, I think it's possible, but I also think it takes a lot of time.

Some of the biggest areas where lean thinking has been applied to knowledge work so far are agile and lean in software development / tech entrepreneurship, but it's still very early days.
